My plan on technology professional development as a teacher is to use blogs and Twitter. I enjoy blogging with other students in this EME2040 course and I am interested in blogging with other teachers! I feel like I could learn a lot about how to apply more technology in the classroom by discussing it with other teachers online. I also feel as though I have done the same with Twitter! I never knew that so many educators use Twitter daily to connect with each other/spread new ideas about getting students to learn the most in the classroom and beyond.

I figured out how to add sounds, different transitions, and video recording of myself on PowerPoint through the two PowerPoint assignments. I liked how I included the videos of myself for my first PowerPoint when I was explaining the assignment I created. However, I would like to plan out what I'm going to say more in the videos by writing it down next time. I liked how I was able to choose the topic for the second PowerPoint and include my mom's experience as a veteran into the presentation. However, next time I would like to include more of the history of Veteran's Day.

  1. Hey Minnie,
I can tell through these images that you spent a lot of time on these PowerPoint assignments and enjoy adding your own personal touch! I also like how you talked about incorporating you and your mother's experience into your assignment. I very much enjoyed learning all the new tools in PowerPoint that I did not know existed before. It was a surprise to me as well when I discovered how many educators utilize Twitter for their profession, and I definitely plan on using it in the future as well!

"The Flipped Classroom" is a class that incorporates instruction outside of the classroom in addition to instruction in the classroom. This is usually done through providing assignments and instruction online to enhance learning. "The Flipped Classroom" is a nontraditional form of learning and instruction. It's beneficial to students because it keeps the learning process going no matter where they are located as long as they have access to a computer. I wish I had been given more online instructional tools when I was in grade school, I believe that "The Flipped Classroom" is every classroom's future! The digital divide is a fancy way of saying that some students have easier access to technology, such as computers/tablets, than others. The causes of digital divide vary, but it's primarily because of financial or geographical reasons. This is because some students may not be able to afford to access the technology or they may live in a rural ...

Hello! My name is Minnie. I am currently a student studying Creative Writing and Criminology at Florida State University. My dream job after college is to either become a high school English teacher or go to graduate school to be a licensed clinical social worker. I absolutely adore spending time with my cat, reading, and traveling abroad. Some of the current books on my summer reading list are The Handmade's Tale, Normal People, and Becoming Michelle Obama. I have traveled to: England, Scotland, France, The Netherlands, Canada, the Bahamas, Canada, Tanzania, and Kenya. My prior experiences using technology in a classroom setting included using the classroom's smart-board when I was in elementary school. For those of you who don't know what a smart board is, it's an interactive, touch screen board that replaces traditional white boards in classrooms. Through using my laptop and smartphone in my everyday life, I have had primarily positive experiences with modern...
